Madi received both her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in business from Pace University. Madi received a second Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from New York University.
Madi has professional experience in a variety of settings including private practice and elementary schools.
Madi’s comprehensive experience includes evaluating and treating children with childhood apraxia of speech, receptive-expressive language deficits, and auditory processing disorders. Madi is trained in the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol (K-SLP) and Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT).
Madi specializes in articulation and phonological disorders in children. Her expertise in oral motor assessment and treatment includes the young child with ankyloglossia (tethered tongue) as well as the older child with oral facial muscle imbalance and deviate swallow (tongue thrust). Madi coordinates her findings and therapy plan with the child’s dentist/orthodontist, as warranted. The child’s myofunctional remediation protocol is reviewed and modeled for the caregiver to ensure a comprehensive program.
Additionally, Madi specializes in social-pragmatic language assessment and treatment. She trained with Dr. Stanley Greenspan (DIR Floortime); Diane Lewis (Affect-Based language Curriculum ABLC) and Dr. Barry Prizant.
Madi joined the Suburban Speech Center in 2007.
