Melisa J. Robinson

MA CCC-SLP

Melisa received her Bachelor’s degree in special education from The College of New Jersey and taught grades 4-8 for nine years in Bergen County before earning her Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Kean University.

Melisa’s clinical experience includes evaluating and treating preschool, elementary, middle and high school aged children in the South Orange-Maplewood School District where she is an integral part of the Child Study Team and school community. Melisa is responsible for evaluating and reporting on program effectiveness for the maintenance of quality speech-language services in her school district; as well as, consulting with supervisors to determine appropriate professional development to provide to staff and assisting in onboarding new staff.

Melisa’s comprehensive experience includes evaluating and treating children including those on the autism spectrum and those with Down’s syndrome, to improve upon articulation/oral motor coordination, receptive and expressive language/cognition, voice, and social/pragmatic skills.

Melisa is trained in Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT), Level 1. She is dedicated to providing evidence-based interventions and was honored with an ASHA “ACE” Award for Continuing Education in 2019.

Melisa joined Suburban Speech Center in 2025.
