Dr. Nancy Polow received her Bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology from New York University and Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Seton Hall University. She received her Ph.D. in curriculum and teaching from Fordham University.
Dr. Polow established Suburban Speech Center 40 years ago and has served as Director since that time. The Center is currently located in Short Hills, New Jersey. There are presently 15 licensed speech-language pathologists on staff. Nancy and her team were featured on CBS “This Morning” as well as the National Geographic Network (The Science Times).
Dr. Polow received national and statewide recognition for her achievements. She was recognized numerous times by New Jersey Speech-Language Hearing Association (NJSHA) colleagues when they awarded her the “Outstanding Clinical Achievement Award”, “President’s Award for Excellence”, “Honors of the Association”, and the “Distinguished Professional Service Award.” Her most recent honor was the NJ State Governor’s “Jefferson Award” (2019) in recognition of her public service.
Dr. Polow was invited to participate at the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience at Rutgers University. Her achievements were recognized by the Scientific Learning Corporation when she was presented with the “Leadership Award” and the “Pat Wilson Award.”
Dr. Polow has served as an adjunct professor at three colleges and universities including Miami Dade College in Florida, Seton Hall University and William Paterson University in New Jersey. She has published numerous articles and books and lectured throughout the country.
Dr. Polow is an integral part of each child’s speech-language therapy program. She is involved with the child and family receiving therapy services. In addition, Dr. Polow meets with the staff speech-language pathologist(s) and other specialists to provide the most comprehensive treatment for children at Suburban Speech Center.
